Kafue National Park is nearly 23,000 square kilometers: roughly the size of Wales and more than half the size of Holland. Mukambi Safari Lodge is situated right on the Kafue River. From one of our three large and relaxing viewing decks you will be able to enjoy the river and its inhabitants: hippo’s, crocodiles, birds and local fishermen. On the opposite side of the river you might see your first elephants. At the lodge you will be able to enjoy Africa to the maximum. Not only by relaxing on one of our decks but also in our pool overlooking Kafue River or just strolling along Kafue River, spotting wildlife near the lodge. Our meals will satisfy everyone’s palate. We offer an English breakfast, a buffet lunch and a 3 course dinner of high standard. Come and taste our mushroom vol-au-vent, Kafue bream in lemon sauce and profiteroles with white chocolate sauce. Our accommodation is designed to give you the privacy you need in order to enjoy the African bush. Our chalets and family villa are situated on the river and from your verandah you can relax and take in the beauty of Africa’s nature. If you choose one of our safari tents with thatched roof, the bush experience will become even more realistic. In the luxury of your furnished tent right at the riverside, you will hear the sounds of the African night. Among them is the lion’s roar and the hyena’s whoop. Activities For the more adventurous several activities from the lodge are available. These activities include game-drives, boat-and fishing trips and walking safaris. You will have a good chance to see impala, puku, elephant, hippo, buffalo and crocodile. And if you are lucky lion, leopard and cheetah will cross your path.
